Hay sand 0-2mm, 0-3mm, 0–4 mm is produced by sifting the aggregate through devices called sorters (screeners) with the use of appropriately sized string sieves.
Example use:
For the production of cement-sand ballasts
As a ballast for paving stones
For winter maintenance of roads and sidewalks
For arranging such facilities as, for example: beach volleyball courts, for filling sandboxes
For the construction of embankments, backfilling of excavations
To replace the soil in order to improve its bearing capacity
For backfilling foundations
For laying electrical and sanitary installations in the ground
