Washed gravel with a fraction of 2-8 mm is a loose sedimentary rock composed of pebbles. It can be extracted from water (sea, rivers, lakes), it can also be extracted from a dry deposit (post-glacial origin). The quality of this aggregate (as well as the larger fractions of 8-16mm and 16-32mm) is of great importance, e.g. in the production of ready-mixed concrete, because it affects the strength of the structure that was made of it. Although individual grains seem similar to each other, in fact they differ from each other in terms of physical and mechanical properties.
